years and was a resident of Providence Zen Center for three years.
My first introduction with Svaroopa® Yoga was at Kripalu Institute
for wellness. I had enrolled in an Anatomy workshop given by Rama Berch. She would end each night with a yoga class. This was the first time I had experienced releasing
tensions in the body without efforting. Prior to this I had injured my neck. After this weekend training, my neck pain was gone. This made
me very inquisitive about Svaroopa® Yoga which eventually led
from one course to another and into the teacher training program.
I am grateful to Svaroopa® Yoga for helping me to experience
body awareness, giving me the tools to release core tensions and open the body allowing it to heal before it becomes
a serious health issue.
“I became interested in Yoga around the same time I started
my Zen meditation training. Yoga complimented the meditation training,
by helping me to connect to my body & mind in ways that I had
never experienced before. I became aware of the layers of tension
held in the body that makes it tight, fatigued, and diseased. The
tools of yoga & meditation are gifts that help me to connect
to the inner source of healing, freeing me from physical and emotional
tensions, created sometimes by the mind alone. ”
